How to Install Cable Track Molding (Raceway) to Cover Up Unsightly Cables (Legrand Wiremold). The fire code makes it illegal to run an extension cord / "flexible" power cable inside a wall. But your power outlet is way down at the bottom. So what do you do?
We cover it up with a cable track molding kit. This kit holds one power cable and one ethernet cable, or maybe two power cables, or maybe three ethernet cables. It is very tight. But it is easy to use, and you can paint it.
This cable track molding kit is available at Home Depot for about $30. It is called Legrand Wiremold.
It is permanent. If you peel it off the wall, it will take the paint off with it.
Now, this is not our ideal solution. We would typically like to conceal the outlets behind the television / digital signage, but in this case, we had no choice.
